Richmond Hill is a small area in Galle, the capital of southern Sri Lanka.
Richmond College, the boys' school is situated on the hill along with the Richmond Hill railway station. Richmond College is now a well-established institution with a reputation as one of the finest schools in Sri Lanka.
Richmond College was established in 1876 as 'Galle High School' by Reverend George Baugh. It has produced many prominent citizens, including a President and a former Prime Minister. The Richmond Hill railway station was the first railway station built in Sri Lanka.
